What are your Superbowl plans? What's your prediction and why?
Submitted by danatmedog.
My Superbowl plans include cleaning my apartment, and then maybe heading into SF to do some shopping. My prediction is that most of this will be accomplished because (as of this writing) I have already cleaned the apartment as much as it's going to be cleaned. Now I have only to clean myself up and make my way over to BART. I anticipate that the shopping will be easy-peasy because only the football widows will be out and about at this hour. I'm a little bummed that no one invited me to any parties, but hey, I only just remembered about 10 minutes ago that today was the big day, so I guess it wasn't that important to me to begin with. I do enjoy the commercials though. I suppose I'll get those tomorrow (yay youtube!).
Happy Superbowl Sunday, folks!
What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish?
Submitted by Brennan.
Stuffing. You know, the stuff that Mom baked in the turkey, not the "healthy" stuff that's just cooked in the oven next to the turkey.
Followed so closely that it's hard to really tell who's coming in first by: pumpkin pie. With lots of whipped cream. And olives. The ones big enough to put on your fingers. And don't forget the mashed potatoes. Need one helping with butter, because that's the best way to enjoy potatoes. But who can pass up good turkey gravy? That would be helping #2 of the potatoes.
Turkey shmurkey. It's all about the sides (and my sides, expanding) at Thanksgiving.
What's your motto?
Be your own Disneyland.
What's your middle name? Is there a story or history behind it?
Kelly.
And there is a story! My parents met in the Air Force while stationed in Laredo, Tx. Actually, I don't know if that's where they met, but that's where I was born, on Laredo AF Base, Valentine's Day 197*. Anyway, my dad was flying the day I was born, and had landed - and become stranded - at Kelly Air Force Base.
I'm so glad he wasn't travelling to Cape Canaveral (which is apparently only an AFS - it's also known as Patrick Air Force Base - dodged two bullets there!) or Vandenburg ... or any other awfully-named bases.
What was the last game you played?
Solitaire, sudoku, solitaire, solitaire, solitaire, sudoku ... ad infinitum. One I play on the computer, the other I play while watching movies. That pretty much occupies most evenings right there.
How well do you know your next-door neighbors?
I know one is named Lisa, and the other is named Monica. We say hello when we see each other, and that's about it. Oh, I did ask Lisa once for a replacement quarter when the dryer didn't want to accept the one I had, and she was really cool about it. They both get better magazines than I do. And they seem to have more of a social life as well, since the parties they occassionally have are very loud and last well into school nights.
What's your morning beverage of choice? Coffee, tea, juice? Homemade or store-bought?
A big ol' glass of skim milk. Cold skim milk. Like, really really cold. Even better: a big ol' glass of chocolate skim milk (I'm trying to cut down on sugar, though, so I usually go for the plain stuff). Really really cold, of course.
If I'm out of milk, then it's tea. Some sort of herbal stuff, since black tea requires milk and sugar (and since I'm out of milk and trying to cut down on sugar ...).
What is your favorite cover song?
When an artist re-does his own song, is that a cover? I'm going to go with yes on this one. In which case, I love Eric Clapton's remake of his own Layla. Much as I love the original, the remake is even better.
In other news, I just figured out where these QotD things were coming from. It's way easier to format these posts when you don't have to cut and paste from someone else's posts, you know? Yes, I am a dork. Again.
